In response to our families' expectations of carrying on the family line, we set our conception plan in motion. Amid the uncertainty of this journey, we picked up our cameras and began filming each other. Through the lens, we witnessed a sudden shift in the rhythm of our lives, a reconfiguration of family roles, and subtle changes in our emotional relationship. Behind this seemingly happy "new beginning" lies the silent control of our families of origin and an invisible negotiation over ethics and values. A child's name, clothing, and even the way we present our family to the outside world all become charged with meaning. Caught between emotions and reality, we try to become family to each other, slowly discovering what a family might look like.
