Ten years ago, the herdswoman Shuktsokyi underwent a sterilization procedure after the birth of their daughter and son. Now, with their son in poor health and having become a monk at a local monastery, Shuktsokyi’s husband, Wangchen Dorje, longs for a third child.
He believes that having the third child is essential for carrying on the family legacy and preserving their traditional way of life on the vast grasslands near the Lake Kokonor. However, Wangchen Dorje finds himself torn between faith, personal desires, and moral dilemmas as he embarks on a compelling journey to fulfill his wish for another child.
