Focusing on the work of Pan Daosheng, Party Branch Secretary of Panjiawan Village, the documentary represents the daily life of villagers, the village-based work experience of City Task Force for Poverty Alleviation, the process of tourism development and industrial poverty alleviation of Yi Ningu company. The documentary has a clear narrative structure, various distinct characters, and strong dramatic conflicts. At the same time, the mountain village landscape throughout the film gives great aesthetic pleasure. Panjiawan Village is an epitome of the mountain villages in Central China. Multiple and complex forces gathered here, including superior government, grassroots government, tourism company, tourists and ordinary villagers. The confrontation and integration of these forces shows the grassroots developmental logic of a real Chinese village. The audience could understand Chinese countryside through Panjiawan Village.
